U.S. Air Force Extends Training Contract to Point One Subsidiary

July 22, 2008 - Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas has awarded a five-year extension to its contract with XeDAR's Point One, Inc. subsidiary to train and educate all staff assigned to its medical treatment facility (MTF).  The training is needed to meet mission requirements to be fully prepared to respond to any trauma.  Work under the contract will continue to be performed by Point One.  Dale Smith, a Director of Point One, indicated that "This five-year contract extension ensures that the first-responder training we have provided at Dyess MTF will continue to be among the finest of its kind anywhere and will remain a critical component of maintaining a secure homeland."

This training involves active duty military personnel, civilians and contractors, and focuses on trauma-response, triage and treatment of injuries and shock that result from catastrophic incidents, such as terrorist attacks, manmade events or natural disasters.

XeDAR will continue to provide its best-in-class MTF training as well as provide personnel, equipment, training tools, and supervision to strengthen current processes to their maximum effectiveness.  Trauma-response programs include such things as:

In addition, the contractor will implement an annual training maintenance and notification system (to track and notify MTF personnel of required education and training), secure authoritative instructional and reference materials to support these activities, provide information to include more personnel in the training, represent the training to other staff, and other education and training conferences.
