SmartBUY Contract Awarded to Point One Subsidiary

January 6, 2009 - XeDAR's Point One subsidiary has been awarded Phase 1 of a multi-faceted Electronic Data and Records Management (EDRM) SmartBUY contract to upgrade records management and Call Center/Help Desk support for Camp Victory, the U.S. Military's primary installation in Iraq.  XeDAR's work begins immediately and is expected to be completed in December 2009; the total value of the initial contract is just over $864,000.

In addition to enhancing the existing data management software to include archival capability of any number of data systems (cataloging and storage of historical records, including e-mail, and efficient secure retreival of those records), there are two other responsibilities; provide Tier 1 Call Center/Help desk support for some 1,800 users and provide Tier 1 detailed technical support for the installation of the software package Rules Composer, which complements the Microsoft collaboration MOSS 2007 and Exchange 2007 software.  XeDAR's role is to create, install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the Rules Composer.

Data management software (EDRM), such as XeDAR will install and support for the U.S. Military, is fundamentally critical to the war effort in Iraq, to maintaining an efficient and safe base of operations there, and this contract reflects the critical nature of both data management and cyber-security in the overall strategy for American national security.

Point One's EDRM software is proven to significantly reduce paperwork and decrease storage and retrieval costs.  The software also provides new real-time search capability for archived data and information, which further reduces costs by eliminating thousands of hours of manual search time.  Efficiency like this could save any major government agency millions of dollars over the long term.  It could also help save the lives of our military personnel.
