Department of Defense Awards Contract Extension for Software Tools

July 29, 2008 - The Department of Defense has awarded a one-year contract extension to XeDAR's Point One, Inc. subsidiary to develop national security software and analysis tools.  The base year award to Point One was for $1.7 million; this first option-year is for an estimated $1.6 million.  This is a base-plus-four-year contract.

Point One brings to this contract unparalleled expertise that will supply the DoD with software development and geospatial analysis tools to address critical national defense vulnerabilities.  "The primary advantage the Department of Defense gets in working with Point One is the power of collaboration," says Ron Sinek, Vice President of Point One.

"We have teamed with experts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and IntePoint, LLC of Cornelius, NC, to create an unusually high-powered team of leading authorities from different backgrounds, all with commanding knowledge of their fields - in an effort to supply the preeminent software tools to the DoD for their ongoing national security and analysis work.  The difficulties we face in defending the  homeland affect all of us, and so it makes sense to assemble the strongest minds available to address those challenges.  When we team up like this, the result is the most comprehensive approach that private industry can bring to the DoD to solve these significant national defense challenges."
